A short story about dark entities.

An external presence has started to commence in the life of a 32 year old male named Milo. The gloom now hangs over Milo’s nights, and fills them with the realm of terror. This inception of obscurity has now become his reality. Milo now seeps this into his everyday pleasures, which gives him a constant need to enter the incubus state. He once had a yearning for life in the fast lane, and finally it has come to him in the form of a nocturnal hallucination. Milo had lost so many loved ones over the years, and night after night notably one of the bereaved revenant would come and visit him during his conscious nightly state.
This was a lucid dream, with an abominable place of sorrow and torments that made him want to wake up and scream. The thing was this paradoxical sleep seemed to paralyze him for minutes on end, and all he could see was a smoked filled entity, with gleaming blood red eyes who just gazed at him. Could this lurking obscurity be one of Milo’s deceased friends or was it a jinn waiting for him in the darkest depths of his own consciousness. This terrified him because it stated to feed on his psyche. It seemed to be a pandemic outbreak on his soul, which held him hostage each night. Was there any strength in Milo left to fight?
This once pleasure seeking mission was never meant to turn into a license for all that is unholy to come out and play. Sick from the nightly trembles Milo took to the church for a remedy. The humble priest told him that he would help with a strong holy blessing in Milo’s home. This clearing of the sinister darkness took a prayer from the power of the house of God. After all was said and done Milo never spoke of the terror that filled his nights, but he still had a deep yearning for the afterlife and those he once loved who now seem to occupy it.
