Sea of trees, Aokigahara
~Sea of Trees~
         by ~Minja~

Weight of his words
caused a hurricane in the sea of passion,
disaster of chorea and denial
that all this might end
in the way we don't want.

His lips didn't move
in the right direction and attempts of his words
to go back to the same station
from where they would catch up the first train for tomorrow
fell into impossibility.

The clock ticked midnight when
private demons came out of burrow
and one after another started to win
parts of property where you couldn't find
not even one reason for existence.

And, as his lips moved
in the rhythm of my deaf mind,
one word has prevailed the silence
and triggered a wave in sea of trees
from where escape seems impossible.

Aokigahara (青木ヶ原?), also known as the Suicide Forest or Sea of Trees (樹海 Jukai?), is a 35-square-kilometre (14 sq mi) forest that lies at the northwest base of Mount Fuji in Japan. The forest contains a number of rocky, icy caverns, a few of which are popular tourist destinations. Aokigahara forest is dense, shutting out all but the natural sounds of the forest itself.

The forest has a historic association with demons in Japanese mythology, and it is a notoriously common suicide site (in which 57 took place in 2010); for this reason, a sign at the head of the main trail urges suicidal visitors to think of their families and contact a suicide prevention association.
