Poem of hiding oneself from those closest.
If you could see behind my eyes
If you knew why my soul cries
If you heard that my spirit dies
If you spoke truth with these lies
Would you deign to weigh my life?

Judge me not by the time
I spent holding you up
But by the way I held me down.
Find me lacking not with your own scale
But by the heft of my tale.

I left me by the wayside
So that I could help you fly
But you never knew
Each of your words bind
All of the true me dies.

And my souls cries.

Rail against injustice in my name
For I am the only one to blame
Wild spirits do not tame
Freedom is not shame
Don't be glad you came

Here.

My life alone is given
My life alone is lived
My life is a lonely gift
My life alone is left

It is the price I paid.
This is the life I've paved
My soul and body in trade
The peace of my mind I gave
My freedom's cage

I view life through the twisted glass
of a day dream periscope
Distantly wishing I could participate
Drifting in a wasted effort
Haunted by my own demon terrorist

This carefully crafted lie I create
This tearfully drafted sketch of fate
This hidden objective lies fake
This tortured soul arrives late
This truth is lain in a death state

Will you ever see my true heart
Can you accept your own part
Do you know my secret scars
Your teasing denial is hard
Nails in a coffin, heart in a jar
Deny all you want, truth imparts
Truth runs deep, truth runs far
In the end truth wins this war

When I die my soul will flee
Frame becomes un-mattering
And I will finally be
What only I can see
Truly me
