I was drinking at a bar. I had a thin blanket of hope over my thick sweater of darkness.
Another Day

When the night grows taller
and the world feels smaller,
the moment seems bigger
–taking me forever, to pull the trigger.

Locked down feelings break loose,
it's life or death, I have to choose.
Fish out the tiniest of hope,
put the gun down, go out for a smoke.

Pass out on the grass,
oh! How fast the hours pass!
When I find myself awake,
the night ha passed away
–and I live another day.
