A wizard needs help defending himself from a pack of hell hounds. Flash Fiction 506 words
The hounds are out again, hunting me. I've been giving them the slip so far, being a wizard helps. Being human that can transform into Hell Hounds helps them a lot.

I found myself in an alley, dark and smelly, trying to ditch them when I heard the growls. The moving shadows set my back against the wall with goosebumps but I'm not going to let them have it. I looked around for help and a way out and got nothing but a huge dumpster and a dead end. They came in a pack of six slowly advancing knowing I was trapped.

"I could really use a friend right now," I said out loud.

The man with the hat coming out behind the dumpster made me jump, he looked annoyed.

"Can a guy have a little privacy taking a wiz," he said in a statement more than a question.

"Sorry," I said. "But we're about to have more company.

He gave me a once over then closed his eyes, after a moment he turned towards the shadows. "Wow kid, what did you do?"

I'm not a kid, I'm seventeen. But they want something I got and I'm not going to give it to them, it's part mine.

"Well it's none of my business, but they don't play, hope you're a badass."

I pulled out my wand. "How do you know who they are?"

"Vibrations... " was all he could get out before they came out of the shadows. You couldn't exactly call them domestic dogs, they looked like two hundred pounds of Rottweiler on super steroids, eyes red, bulging muscles and foaming saliva from nasty pointy teeth.

The one leading the gang stopped and gave a loud bark. In an instant, there was a puff of smoke and a naked man stood instead of the canine.

"Give me the diamond or you both die!" said the nude man.

I looked over to the man in the hat. "Here, take this." I gave him what they wanted, brass knuckles. It was silver, covered in runes and a big gaudy diamond was embedded in the middle. "It stores energy like movement and sounds then kicks like a mule if you hit something with it, you might knock one of them out.

"Movements like vibrations?" he asked smirking.

"Yeah"

He slowly walked and stood beside the dumpster. Putting the knuckles on his hand he punched the side of the dumpster. The big metal box flew down the alley bouncing off walls, creating large sparks and very loud noises.

We heard a few yelps and watched the dumpster smoke with a huge dent in the side. The knuckles was glowing red but didn't seem to bother my new friend. The leader of the pack was sprawled on the ground out cold with no signs of the rest of the gang.

I gaped in total awe. "I didn't think it could do that" I stammered.

"Vibrations are my specialty." Giving me a big smile and holding his hand out, "Hi, I'm your new wingman."
