Budget Cuts

“I can’t give the six inch up!”

“Don’t be silly...”

“It’s my job Sharon.”

“It isn’t your job to question the director on every move I make, it’s just a budget decision. We are barely making a profit now.”

“A budget decision that will destroy my best routine. I can’t get the same results from three inch that I get from six!”

“Going to three, cuts our balloon budget more than half right there, it’s the bottom line here Frankie.”

“I’d have to use twice as many and it still wouldn’t go right.”

“Don’t be silly...”

“Sharon, it’s my job...”

“What if I keep the six inch and cut the tens? You only use the tens for decoration, right? You could use paper.”

“And I get to keep the sixes...? Yeah, I guess. I could use paper, but it would have to be bright colored paper, and laminated.”

“Laminated! That would take every cent we save on the cut in the first place! I might as well just leave the six, and the tens. Is this a trick Frankie? Are you doing a bait and switch with my budget here?”

“I don’t do tricks, Sharon, I do silly.”

“Fine, keep your six inch balloons. But if you want to stay in this business, you better start booking a lot more ‘Silly Birthday Clown’ gigs!”
