Where is tick this time? Can he escape the soldiers?
When Tick awoke he was in a dark room and it took him a while for his eyes to adjust. He was sitting on a chair with his hands tied behind his back. Out of the silence he heard a man began to speak. It was a raspy, old man's voice.
"The kenku, the thief, the rogue. The mystery everyone knew but never saw. You've managed to escape our clutches until now." The man said.
When Tick's vision could focus, he saw the shadow of a man in the corner of the room before he stepped into the light. He was a soldier but was different as he didn't wear a helmet. The man bears three scars on his right cheek. His hair is grey and covers half of his face, the rest falling back into a braid. He has hazel eyes and long ears with several silver rings. Tick recognizes the man as a thug from his past who tried to capture him but Tick escaped, which explains the scars.
The man was about to speak again when the door burst open, the sudden light blinded Tick for a moment but saw that it was Hera, she had his bow. Without hesitation she shot the man in his leg before rushing to help Tick. After she untied him, he tore the arrow from his leg and the ran off into the nearby woods. After running for a while they found a nice, quiet place to rest.
"How did you find me?" He began to ask.
"Well, I was following because I thought you should go back to defend your home and even though you told me it was a lost cause I continued. I saw you go to the market when I saw the man kidnap you. Then, I followed him to this huge concrete building. I managed to sneak in and I stumbled on your bow, that's when I found you." Hera explained. "who was he? The man that was in there with you?" she asked.
Tick explained that he was a thug who tried to capture him when he was young. Tick sat down in silence to think before saying,
"thank you. I don't need anyone else but I do appreciate what you did. If you didn't find me, I would have been dead." He said.
Tick suddenly got up, collecting his things and began to walk off into the forest. Letting out a soft sigh, Hera got up to follow him. She was about to ask him something but was interrupted by a loud siren, they both turned to face the sound. It's coming from the castle they just escaped from. Without hesitation, they both ran off into the darkness knowing soldiers wouldn't be too far behind.
