Mental Illness
-Little monster in my head,
why are you everything I fear?
Why do you torture me,
with my worst memories?
-Memories that are best left in the dark recesses of my mind,
awful things that make me sob hysterically,
things that make my throat close up,
let me go.
-Little monster in my head,
you repeat the words that have broken me,
you open up the closet,
and out fall my skeletons.
-Skeletons that come to life,
and suffocate me,
they leave me wide-eyed with fear,
choking on my screams.
-The little monster shows me the way out,
promises it won't hurt.
Pushes me to the edge of my sanity,
I have no choice.
