A son who is so loving and caring , a gift from above.
The Gift of a Son
We had an only daughter in our lives, and the grace of the Lord helped us to nurture her in the best possible way. We showered our love on her and it was a fulfillment to have her in our lives. Time flies and oh it does so fast too. Years passed and we did not realize that our daughter had grown up into a fine young lady. She met her prince of her dreams and soon she decided to get married to him. As soon as she informed us of her intention, we too were happy for her, we decided to meet him. One Sunday she brought him home and it gave us immense joy to see that he was just as we wanted him to be. Suave, sophisticated and a smile on his face, he was as charming.
After some time it was decided that the wedding would be held, and so our preparations started for the big day. We had our days of shopping, arranging and taking the rounds of meeting different organizers related to the wedding. As time went by and the final day arrived, we accompanied her to the parlor where the beauticians would prepare her for the wedding ceremony. As she came out well made up in her white wedding gown, I could not but help hold back a tear that swelled up in my eyes. It now dawned on me that she would leave us and have a life of her own with her prince charming. We would now have to spend our lives without her. We would now miss her talk, the little laughter of a girl and the love that she showed in her own special way.
The wedding was over and now we started our life with a big blank space that no one else could fill in. It was hard for me, as I had special chats with her every day. I so much miss to have those chats. For a few days I could not bring myself to accept the fact that she has left us. But at the same time, I had a special joy in my heart when I realize that she has a home of her own, with her prince. She visits us with her prince, and those moments that she is here are so special for us. Now as I ponder over the bygone time, and how the Lord has given a son in addition to the daughter we had, I cannot but give praises to the Lord. It's a special gift of a son given to us. A son who loves us so much and a son who really cares for us. The times together are so special to us.
