Musings of progression from simple handwriting to using a laptop for writing
I am training my physical self to distribute the precious words circulating throughout my heart and soul directly onto the clinical impersonal medium of technology.

The laptop.

Seemingly existing to enable greater ease and speed, though also limiting the creative flow and energy that used to be preserved especially for paper.

It feels so strange to have this man-made machine perched atop my lap whilst my fingers speedily translate my thoughts. Yet, I must already admit that it is also quite liberating to so easily be able to delete, back space, and re-create my thoughts into reality before my eyes.

The argument appears to be between my creative mind and my physical self.

Many years of directing my heartfelt yearnings, opinions, and musings from soul and mind to crisp paper via pen, pencil or even crayon. Whatever happened to be nearest within my grasp.

Now I sit here staring silently at the screen. Arms folded in protest against the keyboard.

I have noticed the additional time used.
I have noticed a subtle block in creativity and flow of expression.
I have noticed many moments of stillness and nothingness.

No thoughts flowing.

Yet I have also already edited this very document countless times.

It has been wonderful! A complete paradox right before my eyes.

Shall we continue practicing, you and I? Man and machine melding together for the sake of creativity?

The modern implement to now write with being this sturdy little hardened plastic, where my inner thoughts appear on a screen right before my eyes, whilst my fingers hastily glide over the keyboard to keep up?

Yes!

Let us progress and become acquainted.

For every new relationship has its ebbs and flows of learning and discovering each other. So too will I embrace this technology.

My new friend.

The laptop.
