The cheerful sunflower

A lone, cheerful sunflower
resting in her garden bed

wakes up in the middle of night,
hearing murmurs from the sky overhead

Intrigued, she casts a glance up,
in awe, her jaws drop,

sees a dark blue blanket spread wide,
studded with sparkling stones of all kinds

A little far from the centre,
a half-moon smiles away,

dressed in white finery,
urges her to stay awake
