Love the summer.
Hot July season I think it is great;
full moon and Jupiter lighting the sky.
Here stays the summer I’m staying up late.

Nocturnal barred owls and raccoons await;
winds and the towering maples ally.
Hot July season I think it is great.

Brown scars on green lawns a mid-summer fate;
dormant the blades of grass rather than die.
Here stays the summer I staying up late.

Dew-point humidity oppressive trait;
languid the spirit instead of so spry.
Hot July season I think it is great.

Sleep in the summertime might as well wait;
sand in the eyes from the sandman is nigh.
Here stays the summer I’m staying up late.

Memories of the cold winter I hate;
I do not want to see summer go by.
Hot July season I think it is great;
here stays the summer I’m staying up late.
