An exercise for The Poet's Place
A frequent notion of candied gray,
Unquestioned master of worldly glitter,
Without exception, nothing pussyfoots,
Off tongues as lecherously as "Silver."

Delightful hunger stealing self-control,
Metallic treasure luring fool and wise,
Destroy and build inside our tangled times,
Rapacious temptress, double-blind our eyes.

Dismantle promptly bling's obsessive lust,
Perplexing successor to pampered gold,
Surrender sinless the object of sin,
Discover to whom your worship is sold.
