inspired by, well, the pecan bottoms in Texas
Mile upon mile of pecan orchards,
emerald green and earthen brown,
through countless river bottoms
trees too numerous to count.
Gnarled limbs laden with leaves
offer cooling shade to all,
and sustenance for wildlife
drops from the trees each fall.
Bake them in a pie or tart
put them in salad or bread
with miles and miles of pecan trees
you're sure to be well-fed.
