The tragedy of existence
He could not help but feel, that his life was just as tragic.
It was not a time of war, but a fierce battle raged in his heart.
It was not a time of need, but he could not provide for the day to come.
It was not a time of separation and darkness, but the loneliness swallowed him whole.
Perhaps, these calamities exist, not outside in the happenings of the world,
but deep within our hearts, seeping through as our seams burst under the weight of existence.
And the release of death smells sweet indeed, but tastes just as bitter.
