Puzzled

I tried to get that thing to fit.
I tried with all my might.
But it was all to no avail;
I could not get it right.

Oh, I did not give up so fast.
I put up quite the fight.
I tried it every different way.
I stayed up through the night.

Well, I was weary to the bone.
My back was twisted tight.
My eyes were red, my hair was mussed,
I was an awful sight.

And then I took a look around
and realized it was light.
It was no longer dark outside.
The sun was shining bright.

That’s when I found the missing piece,
to my intense delight.
That jigsaw puzzle now complete,
I went to bed. Goodnight!
