Broken Beyond Repair

What is love?
But a four-letter word.
A concept an algorithm...
Can never understand.

Where systemic ineptitude,
And priority budgeting,
Within government departments,
Is just par for the course.

Purposefully lacking,
The necessary prompts,
To find the right personnel,
Who clock off at hello.

Then ride the bus home,
Staring at screens,
Can't afford to care,
About those left on hold.

Serving frozen dinners,
Accompanied by reality TV.
And social media posts,
About how hard the day was.

In a caring society,
Where no one really cares.
Until they finally realise,
Everything is broken beyond repair.
