one man's journey down the Q rabbit hole

The Lost Summer

Joe Lewis lost his mind one summer. He thought of it as his lost summer. Many people have had a lost season in their life, usually earlier in life when they drift from one thing to another, drinking too much, doing drugs, and living a deranged unhinged existence. But most people eventually snap out of it and become somewhat responsible adults.

Joe’s lost summer began in 2020, when due to COVID restrictions, at age 55, he lost his job, and was on the verge of becoming homeless. He spent his time online and discovered the real reason for all of this happening to him. His wife left him as he descended into Q inspired madness.

He started reading about Q and became a Q anon believer. It was all because of an evil plot by soulless alien shape-shifter monsters who had taken over the world’s top leadership and were enacting plans to screw over conservative white Christians like himself. Q posted q droppings that talked about the President’s actions as the savior of humanity battling the evil, cannibalistic pedophile cabal, some of whom may not even be human. It seemed almost every prominent person was part of the cabal. According to Q there would be a “storm” when the President would round up the cabal and send them all to Gitmo. He went deep down the Q rabbit hole and was soon using his dwindling funds to travel the country to attend Q meetups where he met his newfound virtual friends. He was having the time of his life. He forwarded Q conspiracy materials to his Facebook and other social media accounts, with the Q tagline, "Do your research".

His son and daughter-in-law were concerned about his descent into “: the Q madness” as they put it and they kidnapped him. They deprogrammed him and a few other Q followers at an anti-Q cult deprogramming center. At the end of the summer of 2020, three months after his descent into the Q madness, he woke up to a new reality.

His son even found him a cheap place to live and a new job although at a much less rate of pay. And he even had a girlfriend who was also a recovering Q follower he had met at the Q deprogramming center.

He wrote an article on his Q summer called “ The Lost Summer of Q “which went viral. He became a media darling and was interviewed everywhere. The Q movement excommunicated him calling him a traitor who had been deceived by the enemy
.
Author note:

Q is a real thing. There are people who believe in this madness. My description of the core beliefs of Q is not satire. I read that there are also real “q deprogrammers” who treat Q as just another quasi-religious cult like the Moonies and others.
