Summer passes as trees begin to bare all....
Waves of inspiration like winds in the autumn air
The breeze blows south in this old town where no one seems to care
The leaves will soon be falling as I write this poem out
The scent of autumn breathing inspires me no doubt.

Maybe it will snow? the rivers might burst their banks
Whatever the weather does, in autumn I give thanks
I love this time of year, it seems to greet me well
Maybe life will change, I hope so, who can tell?.

The sun can still beam down on all the fallen leaves
The British will sit in their gardens and drink their sugary teas
Golden leaves will cover the ground and moisture will soon set in
This land in time will change again before the final fling.

Can you smell the dampened air as summer passes by?
It is the season where trees bare all and only God knows why
The snails will emerge on grassy paths slowly creeping on
It is now time to greet the season as I sing this autumn song.
