A poem based off the song of the same name from Charlie Brown - Maãlík |
Peaceful force………… Calm flute blowing patterns in 3/4’s………… In a field full of pumpkins, knowing Halloween is near. A day where we dress up like all of the things we might fear. A lovely holiday for children to run around the neighborhood at night. Going house to house, yelling “Trick or Treat” to get candy, how nice. The warm hue of the yellow & orange light glow. Emitting from the decorative lights placed on each home. In a search for the Great Pumpkin like Charlie was. Wondering if that spirit is realer than the ones claimed above? Enjoying moments with friends & family that create memories that forever last. So much sweets from the load of candy in my basket, so eager to eat it all fast. The midnight air is warm & humid. While the pumpkins in the fields have carved faces that I find foolish. Yet, I appreciate the simple details that surround my horizon. Scarecrows, haystacks, maple leaves, & even calm music I’m finding. I love this holiday, it’s so much fun. Embracing the warm blanket of the night skies until it’s interrupted by the sun. I lie in the pumpkin field, at peace with the Waltz of the Pumpkin, so surreal. Grateful for being able to listen to the Vince Guaraldi Trio. - Maãlík |
