Shoe Shine Boy got the blues
Shoe Shine Boy got the blues

Shoe Shine Boy got the blues writing com

15 lines

A lowly shoe shine boy
Down in the ghetto flat lands
of East Oakland,
On the bad side of town.

50 years in the dark past
In the early 60s
Dawn of the civil rights era.

Just a black street urchin
Trying to make a living.

Boy, he get rhythm
Had a whole shtick down
As he danced about.

Singing the blues
“worth a million dollars
For you
When you get the blues”.

As he sang and danced
And played that funky music
Rapping and hip-hopping
To amuse his customers
All for a nickel per shoe..

New Prompt:

Use in your poem or story the following:

Get Rhythm
shoeshine boy
a nickel per shoe
worth a million dollars for you
when you get the blues...
