I, too, am grateful that thorns have roses.
Roses have thorns, a warning given;
That sweetness is always tempered
By a harshness that will follow.
Why does the world do so?

It is my thought that thorns have roses;
Perhaps to give hope for some;
Who live in circumstances beyond their doing,
Who have no place to go but up.

Regardless of the situation,
One doesn't have one without the other;
To be given hope, or just a jab,
It is the individual who shall determine.
