Christmas Anticipation

The anticipation builds.
Christmas is not far away.
Pies, cookies, cakes and sweets
Mouthwatering confections plenty.

Snow, crisp, white and glorious,
Snowmen built sturdy.
Snowball fights are many,
Snow angels lay silent in the drifts.

Red, gold, green and silver
Colors all abound;
Cover the tree, the windows, the porch,
Twinkling in the night.

Elf on a shelf sits; spying,
Who is being good and bad,
Relating information to Santa,
Before his magic sleigh ride.
