A prison ministry project |

The Bible has a lot to say about prisoners. Throughout the Bible, God has used inmates and ex-cons in mighty and powerful ways. Just because society has given up on these people, their families and friends have abandoned them...they are made to feel worthless and hopeless. That is NOT God's way! The devotional i'd like to compile will have several objectives.  First, I want it to shine a light so bright into our prison systems that we see a mighty revival sweep through our prisons. I'd like the readers to realize just how valuable and precious they are. Jesus DIED for ALL of Humanity. Even though we may find it hard or impossible to find something good in a particular person GOD does see it. He sees everyone's full potential. Giving inmates a chance to be heard. By allowing them to contribute their own stories of redemption, salvation and hope... Providing opportunities for interactive resources. I'd like to include writing projects, activities and critical thinking questions to help inmates grow and develop their faith. Currently, I am working to establish a point of contact with someone within the prisons...a warden or clergy or whoever is in charge of over seeing contact with inmates. I'm hoping they will help me create a list of inmates and their contact info who might be interested in submitting a story or something or be interested in getting this devotional ...and go from there. Also am hoping they will send me the list of things that can/can't be sent to inmates. It differs from prison to prison. In order to be allowed to send literature/books to inmates, I have to operate under a ministry name, rather than just as myself. Many years ago when I first started doing prison ministry I went by Mercy Outreach, and I will again use that name. |
