questions about identity, intimacy, and the depths of the human experience.
Do you know me?

Do you know me by the sound of my step?

By the scent of my skin?

By the beat of my heart?

By the rhythm of my breath?

Do you know me when I am dreaming?

Can you feel when I am bereft?

Do you feel me leave this place to wander in the past?

Do you know the faces that I seek and the light in which they’re cast?

Do you know the bitter herbs that grow in the garden of my regrets?

When my soul is shed of this bit of skin would you know that we had met?

What are my limits?

The depth and breadth that my soul has traveled?

How was I reformed when my entire world unraveled?

What are the stalking fears that prey upon my dreams?

Do you know what I really am when all is not as it seems?

Tell me again that you love me, that you never knew how much

But you better tell me first, exactly which part did you touch?
