How does an atheist explain death to a child?
An Atheist and a Child

Motionless in a bronze box,
Forever stilled, forever gone.
Death kills innocence
He was afraid…
So young, so confused…
Where is Grandma?
Forever stilled, forever gone…
Those words would never
Ease his pain
Warm hand on his shoulder…
He was afraid.
“Grandma will be okay…
Grandma is in Heaven…
With God."
