my writing... of varying lengths, genres, and, truthfully, varying degrees of quality

For easier surfing, I've collected all my writing under this single umbrella ... it is, in essence, "The Whole Shebang", which is in itself a fairly interesting way for me to characterize this folder. The phrase seemed to echo in my head as I was trying to write this little blurb for the folder. It then occurred to me that I didn't really know the roots of this expression. I popped over to neat little web site, www.wordorigins.org, and looked it up. Here's their explanation:

"What is a shebang ? And how did it come to mean an entirety of something? A shebang , or chebang, is a hut or dwelling. It’s of unknown origin and dates to the early 1860s. Mark Twain, in an 1869 letter to his publisher, is the first to use the phrase the whole chebang in its modern sense of the entirety. The transition from building (and everything in it) to the whole thing is a pretty natural one."

After reading this I have come to the conclusion that in some faint Freudian way, this folder is my "hut" and I welcome you all to avail yourself of the furnishings contained herein.
