A poem about death
~Sorrow~

When the shadows fall as the sun sets,
I close my eyes and reminisce.
The images arouse in my mind,
and as I sleep, I am unaware of the time.
The walls close in around me.
The window diminishes, I can not see.
I kneel on the ground, and I pray.
But I am never gifted with a way...

---OUT---

...of my dreams are born nightmares,
but no one seems to care.
Churchbells ring, some woman sings.
People cry because an old man has died.
My eyes see through the closed casket.
Flowers are atop in a pretty basket.
I scream a silent scream,
wishing I could turn this nightmare back into a dream.
The man's soul is gone.
The service is not long.
The woman finishes her song.
The widow is trying to be strong.
Shovels dig into the ground,
where the man's remains are bound.
A reason though could not be found,
leaving everyone wondering why,
with a soft, sweet whisper of goodbye...
