Understanding dawns for a boy after seeing war
A lone warrior walks amongst the dead
Stepping over the bodies of friend and foe
He does not know why this battle was fought
He doesn't understand why so many had to die

Stopping at the corpse of a young boy
Taken from his home to die needlessly
He looks into those sightless eyes
Sacrificed at the whim of another man

The warrior stops as he reaches the edge
Everwhere he looks he sees devastation
The splendor of man's ambition
Carried upon the shoulders of the dead

The ten year old boy slowly turns around
Green fields and memorials fill his vision
Tears streaming, he finally understands
How foolish is man...
