I wrote this for someone very dear to my heart.
Come sit with me, relax a while
Tell me how happy I should be
My life seems not my own, you see
I've lost control, where could it be?
Help me find it, would you please?
I listen close to what you say
Wondering how to make the changes stay
Trying hard not to protest
I just shut my mouth, lean back and rest

You tell me what I need to hear
What means the most is that you're here
You care for me; I care for you
I do, I know this is true
That is probably why...I'll always love you

I smile at you; you smile at me
Your presence a cornerstone for my sanity
The look in your eyes tells me so much
What was I searching for?
An illusion so real
I had it all the time...I had you
The control I misplaced, has been found
Not really gone, not lost at all

You tell me what I need to hear
What means the most is that your here
You care for me; I care for you
I do, you know this is true
That is why, that is why...I'll always love you
