AFFAIR OF THE HEART

A private drive leads to her home
Where she lives in luxury,
Where nothing is beyond her means;
Yet I know she dreams of me.

She traded love for the finer things
That money could buy, but then
She became lonely and bitter
And has called me back again.

An affair of the heart she's craving,
Needs strong arms to hold her tight;
But life goes on and I have found
Another love that seems just right.

We live in a very small apartment
With no maid, no fancy things;
But we have all that's needed
Two golden wedding rings.

Dreams are for the lonely,
In private thoughts they live;
I turn and walk away from her,
I've nothing more to give.
