A poem I wrote.
The cars shuffle by, as if they were motionless,
An endless conundrum on a rush hour highway,
Honking and screaming while no time passes,
The future and the present are one in the same,
The blissful silence of rolled up windows,
The whimsical change of the radio,
Looking into the rearview I see,
People bustling through mindlessly,
An ambulance cries, a siren sounds,
As spectators gather all around,
The highway speaks as the cars drone on,
An endless silence soon to be gone,
Trucks, cars, buses and vans,
All contribute to the ambiance,
Nothing is so deftly sublime,
As a drive down the highway to kill time.
