A 'calf' breaking from the glacier makes a splash
A chunk of ice that breaks from a glacier is called a 'calf.' Large 'calves' are ice bergs. I never caught a 'calf' on the way from the glacier to the water, but did shot the after effects, the spray of the splash, when the ice hit the water of Blackstone Bay. Ice floats can be seen in the water beneath the glacier.
