A poem to my soulmate who is in denial of the fact that we belong together.....
As you drive along
You avoid my wondering eyes
Who are you thinking of
Me,
Or Her?
I know you aren't mine
You make it obvious enough
But, don't you know I love you
Don't you know you love me too
She's a distraction.....
You don't want to love.
Why not?
There's more to you than meets the eye.
As you drive along
Past streetlights and stop signs
I observe your arms
Arms that should hold me
Not her
Don't you see?
She's not for you
I'm the one who will stay here for you
While she wants to fly away
I hold you when you are in pain.
Where is she?
Where am I?
Right here.
That's what I thought.....
Wake up!
She's nothing.
You are everything,
At least to me....
No one will ever love you like I do.
She doesn't even know how.
Think about it.
How can she understand you?
She isn't like you!
I am like you.
Cars pass by,
You drive, oblivious.
To tell you this would be impossible.
My thoughts condemn her.
My heart reaches out to you.
But you push me away......
Why???
