When there is too much pain a mask is put on B/c feelings aren't always beautiful
Three Faces & The Mask

Grief
Pain, weakness, woe
Depression, anxiety
Each day is filled with these Nightmares
Laughing along with everyone else, pretending nothing's
Wrong
But even that doesn't help forget the Nightmares
It's there
Lurking
Behind the fakeness
Covered
By a mask
No one can see it, only the mask is acknowledged

Finally
Another day is gone
friends say good-bye, no more need to hide
Relief
Cooling, soothing, reassuring
Going home the mask starts to fade
No need to keep the smile
Corners fade into faded lines

Nothing to say---no need
Words not required
Anymore
Slowly coiling into nothing
Nothing
Empty
Everything is gone
Peace
Thoughts whirling
Round and round

The night fades too
Sunlight---piercing
The mask lays waiting
Silent tears stay silent
Can't, won't, no way
Push them away
Struggling to gain control---pulling the mask closer
Putting it on---again
It starts
The Nightmares
Pusht them away too
Again-the torture starts
Happiness, contnentment, suspicions gone
Friends wave, hi
The Mask controls everything---waving right back
No one hears the cry for help
Trying to escape from behind the Mask
