They beat on us
With hard mallets,
Rhythm driving the measures of time,
Framing every interlude
With ceaseless pounding cadence.

Take a hasty breath and join
The immortal, rolling din,
Crafting chords and melody
To wild and reckless pulse,
Amidst such reckless cacophony-
Symphony of life.
