This poem expresses my views on abortion and I hope it does not offend anyone.
When does a life start?
At birth, at conception, or at death?
Many believe birth
When the baby breathes its own breath

But others say conception
When the life is growing inside
Nothing begins at death, not for the baby
Nothing lives but a life died

The life at birth is a gift
That many babies do not see
The choice is not theirs
But they suffer from parents-to-be

The cells of life live for weeks
But then something unnatural invades
The cells die one by one
And none of the wrath do cells evade

Nothing but death remains
Only the memory of what was there
The life too short-lived
But long enough to begin to care
