My take on Show Me Poetry and Win
Betrayed
by orient_celts

Overcast skies
Shrouds further the gloom
The hearth where Love once dwelt
Only recognizes the searing pain.

Love left its central place
And with it, warm memories recedes
Replaced by the ghost of these feelings
And empty, flat embraces.

The once soft assurances
Have become harsh and meaningless
You want to cling to Hope
But Time can never be turned back, I believe.

The source who has given the ache
Would return to hearth
Sick of his whisper
The face of the betrayer.
