Selena tells the story of her dark past, and broken heart.
When Parker awoke the next morning he realized that the women from the night before was ontop of him, motionless. Her long brown hair was scattered over his chest, and her breathing was shallow. The events of the night before came flooding back to him. The storm, the crash, and the pain. The pain? Weirdly he felt none. What had she done, and why, not that he was complaining, was she ontop of him? As he shifted in the bed, she awoke.

Her eyes popped open and she let out a gasp when she felt Parker shift under her. She lifted her eyes to meet his, and was met with a very confused but very beautiful gaze. Those eyes, she thought to herself as she kept her gaze locked on his, those eyes that seemed to see into her very soul. Those eyes that seemed to make everything that she was feeling the night before melt away like a block of ice on a hot summers day. Her eyes then moved down to his lips. He had the fullest lips she had seen in many years. She had to do everything she could to not take his mouth with hers. She was about to speak when she heard that all to familiar voice in the back of her head. "Remember. It won't last. He will love you and leave you just like the rest. He can not love you Selena." Anger started again in her heart as she looked back into his eyes.

Her face that was once soft as silk, now looked hard as stone. Her eyes were filled anger and hate. Before he could say anything she pushed herself up and lowered herself to the hard wood floor. Feeling like he had just slept for ten years, Parker got out of the bed, but stopped dead in his tracks when she whirled around and glared at him. "Who are you?" was all he could manage to say to her. "My name is Selena. Your probably wondering why I was ontop of you." "Uh yea that would be nice to know." "I healed you. But you were closer to death than I thought, so I took the brunt of your pain and I collapsed ontop of you." And with that she walked out of the room. Parker made haste to follow her and try to get a few more answers as to what was going on. It wasn't until they were in her kitchen that he realized he was completely naked. "Ahh shit!" he yelled out and started to turn around, but before he turned from Selena she waved her hand in front of him and he was fully clothed. "No point in being suddle if he is not going to stay with me." She said half to herself and half to someone else. "What the hell!?" Parker yelled out. "How the hell did you do that?" "If you want to know you will follow me." She told him and walked out the door to the woods that surrounded her tiny cottage.

She walked down a path that led through the woods around her cottage with Parker right on her heals. "How old do you think I'am Parker?" He stopped for a second when she asked him this. "Is this some sort of trick question?" He asked but when he saw that she still kept walking he figured there was a point to the question. "I don't know. twenty-three, twenty-four maybe." She laughed at this. "I'am over six hundred years old." "Yea sure swertheart. And I'm Santa Clause." "I do not expect you to believe me. Just listen to my story." She told him as she entered a radiant field of wild flowers.

"Six hundred years ago I was twenty-three years of age, and in love with the man I wanted to spend all of my life with. I was born into witch craft, as was my mother, and her mothers mother. It is in my blood. The man I was in love with was named William Tate, he was mearly a farmer, but he always appeared to me to be strong and true of heart. I did everything I could for us to be together, defied my heritage by leaving my mother and our clan, and by pledging my love for him to all I knew. I thought that would be enough for him to see that I wanted no other but him." She stopped and looked down at her feet letting a single tear fall from her cheek. "But it was not. I conjured up everything he ever asked me to, and the hole time he was defying me with another. I came home one day from the market and found her there, in our home, in our bed, with him." She turned to look Parker in the eye, and the sadness that was once on her face was now filled with anger.
"I was so angry that all of my power lashed out. I killed them. Not meaning to of course, I would never hurt a fly." She told him and began to walk again. "But they did not see it this way." "They?" He finley spoke. "My guardians. The ones who keep me in this infernal prison. I tried to tell them what had happened, but they would not have it. I guess I would have been the same way were I in their shoes. They cursed me to this place. My prison. I can only go so far away from my cottage." She stopped again and put her hand up to the air and pushed into as if there were an invisible wall between her and the rest of the world. "But they didn't stop there. Every new century they send me someone. A man that looks exactly like my betrayed lover." She turned to him. "You. They send them to me so that I have to re-feel all the pain and anger of what he did to me. He comes here I fall for him again. He tells me we will be together forever, and then something happens." "What?" "I'm not exactly for sure, but they leave, and never come back. And I have to remember what it is like to have my heart broken again, and when if finley seems to put itself back together, another comes along. But I WILL NOT go through it again. When you are at full strength Parker you are to leave my home. You are not welcome here. I will not have you trample over my heart as well."

Parker just stood there for a mintue. He didn't know weather she was telling the truth or if she was just off her rock, all he did know was that she was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. He also knew it was she that he had been dreaming about, and he wanted that dream to become a reality. He walked to her slowly and looked into her crystal blue eyes. "I don't care about what happened six hundred years ago. All I know is for the past few weeks your face has been the only thing on my mind. I have no intentions of hurting you. I feel that I have known you for years. I feel so many different things for you right now, and I can't explain them. What is going on Selena?" "It's part of the plan. You were born to come here. I have to be strong. I do not wish to lose another love of my life." "We will both be strong. Together." He told her and lowered his lips to hers and lightly brushed them. Her need for love and to touch over took her anger and hatred. She flung her arms around his neck and kissed him passionately. When they finley pulled away she looked him in the eye.

"I'm really gonna get hurt this time."

Ch. 5

Summary: A blissful night and the morning after.

The light from the fireplace illuminated Selena's bedroom. Her heart and mind were racing as she looked into Parkers eyes. If it was possible her heart was breaking and exploding with joy at the same time. Breaking, because she knew that he would be the same as the others and leave her soon, but also exploding with joy that her constant loneliness was at an end. Even if it was just for a short time. The touch of his hand on her skin made her stomach knot, and her heart flutter. "I know not what tomorrow holds. But I do know this, I have seen nothing in you that I have not seen in the others. So, I still see not that you will stay with me." She told him holding his hand to her cheek. "I don't know what tomorrow holds either, and I don't know if I will leave either. All I do know, is that we have now. We will deal with tomorrow, tomorrow." As he finished he kissed her gently. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him close.

He couldn't understand what he was doing. He had just met this women the day before, and now his entire being seemed to keep telling him that he loved her. He didn't care. All he knew was that he was going to make this night be the best that it could be. He still racked his brain about the story she had told him earlier that day. Magic and betrayal, sounded like your basic nut case to him. Deep down though, something was telling him it wasn't. He brought his thoughts back to the task at hand. A wonderful night. Before she could clear her mind to think straight, Parker had picked her up and took her to the bed. He trailed kisses from her lips, down her collarbone, and to her neck. In one swift movement her dress was gone. She let out a small gasp because it took her alittle bit by surprise. His hands moved down her her body, gently skimming her sides. As he kissed her again a thought came back to her. 'I'm really going to get hurt this time.'

The sun shown bright through Selena's bedroom window illuminating the room. Parker swore under his breath, and wanting to go back to sleep to his dream, and to her. But when he opened his eyes a smile krept across his face. He was still there, in Selena's house, and in her bed. He turned his head and saw Selena lying next to him, still sleeping. She was facing him on her side, her hair sprawled out over her face. The sun that was comming through the window had rested itself on Selena's beautiful face, making her look like she was glowing. An angel. He gently moved the hair from her face and pulled her closer to him, almost afraid that she was going to disappear if he didn't. "Good morning." Selena said making Parker jump a tad in surprise. "Good morning. I didn't think you were awake." "I have been for awhile." She told him, but still not opening her eyes. Parker leaned to her and captured her lips. "Baby last night was amazing." He told her against her lips. "If you say so." She told him with an evil grin on her face, and her eyes now open. "Oh really?" Parker asked her as he pinned her on her back and started to tickle her. "Ok ok ok!! It was amazing!" She yelled out in a fit of laughter. "That's what I thought." He told her as he laughed as well.

"So, just being curious. How do I stack up to the others?" With this question she chuckled. " I would say you did better than most." She told him as he kissed her again. "Oh yea?" He murmurmed against her lips, and his hand floated under the covers. Selena let out a small moan. "Well none of them ever did that."

Ch. 6

Summary: The day of Bliss for Selena

Parker woke to find the bed empty. It felt cold and dark without the bright Selena to fill it. He placed his feet on the hard wood floor and looked around the room. Selena had rebuilt the fire, put out water for him to wash up, and folded his clothes next to the bed. As he slipped into his pants he heard the most beautiful voice he had ever heard. He leaned out Selenas bedroom window and saw her standing in the field they had walked in the day before, singing. She was singing about a love found but lost at the same tim. Could she be singing about him?
He walked outside into the warm sunlight and found Selena nelt in the field with a butterfly in her hand.
"Shhh, be silent or you will scare him away." She told him without looking up.
"Surprised you even got him on your hand. Most butterflys wont come near people. But then again, your not like other people." He told her smilling.
"Thank you Parker, but I wasn't talking about the him," She told him pointing to the butterfly. "I was talking about him." She said bringing her head up and pointing toward the woods. Parker turned and saw a beautiful white wolf standing at the edge of the tree line. His brown eyes seemed like they could burn into you around all that white fur.
"Oh my god." He said and moved toward Selena.
"Don't worry Parker. He's just watching as we are. As long as we don't bother him, he wont bother us." She told him standing. "Now, I hope I didn't wake you."
"No, you didn't. But I did hear you singing. It was beautiful." He told her and moved so that they were a whisper away from eachother. "I don't mean to sound like a self obsorbed asshole or anything, but was it about me?"
Selena smilled and circled her arms around his neck. "Yes, it was actually." She said smilling. "But it's strange I have never done anything like that before. I don't usually sing. You did it...thank you. Now I will have something to remember my wonderful few days I had with you when you are gone." She said and the smile had gone as fast as it had arrived.
"Hey, look at me." He told her taking her chin and moving it so she had to make eye contact with him. "I'm not going anywhere without you. I don't know what is going on here, but every moment I spend with you is one that makes it harder and harder for me to let you go."
"You say that now, but just wait Parker, you will leave. And it will be without me." She could see that he was begining to protest once again but she stopped him by placing her fingers gently on his lips. "I know this for certain, for I can not leave this place Parker. It's part of my punishment. I'm a prisoner here. The only way we would ever be together is if you stayed here with me, and I could not ask you to give up your life so that I could keep you. It wouldn't be fair." Parker took her hand and gently kissed it, looking so deep into her eyes she thought they might burn out under his gaze. His gaze softened as he saw a tear fall down her cheek and he quickly kissed it away.
"As long as I'm here, you are not to cry. Understood?" Selena just shook her head but she knew it was when he was to leave that the real tears would fall. Parker pulled her into his arms and kissed her with everything he had. H edidn't know how he wsas going to get Slenea to believe him that he wasn't leaving without her. He fisted his hand in her hair and angeled her head to deepen the kiss. When he broke away he pulled her even tighter to him in a great embrace. It was then that he noticed that they were atleast thirty feet off the ground. "Selena?"
"I know. It's another thing I have learned that happens when you are around. I have never done this before Parker, it was not in my powers. You have given me this gift, and I give you my heart in return." Parker pulled her back and kissed her again.
"I would give you mine, but you stole the minute I saw you." As soon as Parker finished his sentence they shot up in the air and beyond anything he could possibly imagine.
