Over the last summer I struggled alot with depression, but everyone does, right?
And when the feeling besets you
You know it from its icy touch
You know it from its bitter taste
The words you scream in haste
You feel held beneath the water
A fragile hand gripping firm
You struggle, hit, kick, and squirm
And still it holds quick.
You only want to break above
And breathe the air you know it there.
You swim and swim
To break closer to the top
But the closer you get
The more the small hand suppresses you
The frustration come
The anger forms
And you cry out all your might
It is but a weak hand
Are you not stronger than this?
So you give up
And sink quickly farther down
You watch your progress float above you
And in all your might you scream again
Then a small fire ignites
And the feeling besets you
It comes as a suprise
And suddenly you find
Your own will to fight
You struggle you swim
So much faster than before
And before you reach the surface...
You lift your hand off you head
And breathe the air
That you knew waited there.
