THE OTHER WOMAN

From early morn 'till five p.m.,
I go to earn my daily bread;
Just trying to make a living
and trying to get a bit ahead!

Then begins a transformation,
as I drive home, I become
the other woman in his life,
and stop to pick up my son.

Each day I have to leave him
in the care of someone who
does all the little things I can't
and it makes me kind of blue.

Yet the world gets brighter
when I see love in his eyes,
as he runs to greet me and
thinks I'm quite a prize.

Lips the color of cranberries
kiss his face and leave their mark,
He can brighten up any day
with his tales of Noah's Ark.

His daddy has gone off to war
and that leaves it up to me,
While he's fighting for freedom
the 'other woman' I must be.

The day will come when we are
together, once again at home,
and in this world of uncertainty
we won't ever feel alone.
