Sally Mae reflects on how good she has been all day
My Halo

"Just how big is my halo?
I have been really good all day.
Surely it must be growing big,"
Said cute little Sally Mae.

"I didn’t tease my brother.
I didn’t talk to him at all.
I ignored him since this morning
When I kinda made him fall."

"At school, I was an angel.
I’m sure my teacher was so proud.
She hardly had to fuss at me
When my talking was too loud."

"At lunch I was a lady,
My manners so polite and nice.
My elbows stayed off the table,
And I only threw food twice."

"There was that little problem,
As I rode home on the school bus.
But who'd ever think the driver
Wouldn’t like my pet snake, Gus?"

"I know my halo’s growing.
I’ve been doing my very best,
Acting nice, sweet and so polite,
Not a problem or a pest."

"Can my halo get too big,
Since I’ve been good as good can be?
To keep it firmly on my head,
Tomorrow I’ll just be me!"
