A poem about feeling sorrow for one's life.
I find I'm all alone,
In a world of ongoing wars..
Being both far and close to home.
It's waged against all forms.
From creatures near extinction,
To every bought or stolen election.
What's the source of all this friction,
That causes death, harm, and tension?

I bow my head in shame this time...
Sometimes I cry, and wonder why.

I find I'm all alone,
In a country that doesn't notice me..
I'm lost in a sea of numbers.
Helplessly floating and in need..
Of equal opportunity,
And free of religious scrutiny.
Of money, food, and property..
And healthcare for my family.

I hide myself in fear this time...
Sometimes I cry, and wonder why.

I find I'm all alone,
In a state that doesn't count my vote..
And blames me when I need assistance.
I feel I've sunk neck deep in a hole,
Reaching always for things at a distance.
What I really want is just out of sight.
What I really need just leads to a fight.
I'm simply trying my best to do right.
But it seems I never reach the light.

I hang my head in defeat this time...
Sometimes I cry, and wonder why.

I find I'm all alone,
In a life that I got stuck in.
Continuously feeling as if I am lost,
Without a soul to be my TRUE friend.
Out with the garbage I have been tossed,
By power mongers who wouldn't relent..
Until they ripped from me every last cent.
By ruthless, callous government..
Who'll have no worry when my use is spent.

I tremble this time and turn my face to the sky
Sometimes I cry, but I know why.
