what I saw in my yard one day
Two perfect slender bodies
Lying in the hazy Spring sun
Spiraling in an elegant embrace
Fresh young skins sparkling in the light
Primal souls pulsating with the rhythm
Of Earth’s ancient song.

Snakes mating on my front lawn.
