A poem about raising up against your greatest enemy...yourself.
Hiding in the corner,
that can be easier you see.
Easier to sit there,
and not struggle to be me.

Easier to watch,
as the world goes round and round.
Not to have notice,
all the mess that's all around.

But to hide there in the corner,
life will pass you by.
You won't see the world around you,
if you sit there by and by.

So turn and face that enemy,
the one that is denied.
And strive to be the very best,
to face that enemy inside.

Only when I turn and face,
and defeat that enemy.
Will I be able to live my life,
and know all I can truly be.

But that enemy is hard to face,
because it's so easy to deny.
For all the feelings it has caused,
are bottled up inside.

To talk is hard and painful,
to think about it: worse.
To release those feelings, locked away,
are cause for spit and curse.

Life can be so lonely,
filled with much despair.
When there is no one there to turn to,
life is quite unfair.

I won't give up, I can't give up, this fight against myself.
For I must defeat this enemy,
for no one but myself.

So, hiding may be easier,
and seem the safest way.
But remember it is the enemy,
you live with everyday.

Fight it down with all your strength,
For it's as strong as you.
Turn and face that enemy,
that enemy in you.
