Sometimes love makes you stay in a dangerous situation, but sometimes you get out.
Loving Cruelty

From your once sweet lips,
cruel words are thrown my way.
Your once gentle hands now strike my body with painful blows.
I fear now what I once loved, and yet I stay.
I make excuses for your actions, believing you'll change.
But with each stinging blow and acidic word
I find my heart breaks a little more until I pull away from your hurtful actions and surround myself with silence.
Here, in this dreary motel, I feel as though I live within a tomb.
Desolate and isolated from the warmth of life and love.
My breath is frozen, my skin is blue, the cold emptiness of my mind invading my heart,
everything I love now torn apart.
My soul turned black, my heart like stone
I feel I’m destined to live alone.
