The future is only fearful because we cannot see.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Change
Last night I spread my wings,
Breaking anchor with the soil
         To fly
Others may be planet bound;
Some may worship the ground.
         Not I.
The trees are greener from heaven;
The clouds play soft mists of dew;
Rainbows are rounded slides of color;
And Earth is a sweet globe of blue.
Last night I spread my wings,
Dancing with light and air
          In song.
Others may be planet bound;
Some have a horror of heights.
         Not I.
For the breezes play Marco Polo;
The earth teases and entices;
And vision is as wide as spring,
While freedom is circularly plump.
Others may have fearful eyes;
Some may dread such a future.
         Not I.
Last night I spread my wings,
Breaking free from mortal life
         To soar.
