Summary of this Book...
Young, mistreated, Maryrose, who lives in the outskirts of the forest with her Gran, one day runs into a group of young faeries who take her back to meet the faerie queen, Dymphna. Maryrose goes with them to the kingdom of Faerie, despite her gran's warnings, where she is given the name Rosebud, and is brought up as a faerie child. When Queen Dymphna is destroyed, Rosebud marries King Obrey and becomes Titania, Queen of Faerie! Before long, Obrey is killed by Auberon, the rightful heir to the throne. In order to remain queen, Titania marries Auberon. Things go normally until Titania meets the mortal, Tomlin. They fall in love, and she ends up having an affair with him. Immediatly after this, Auberon forces his right with Titania to secure the succession to the throne. When Titania becomes pregnate, she has no idea who the father is. What will she do if the child is earth-born?
I especially liked...
The characters and setting were wonderfull! Though comic books take away the much loved ability of imagining the scenes yourself, this more than compensates. Not only are the characters drawn beautifully, their personalities are wonderfully realistic and intriguing. Plus the storyline is captivating, and keeps pace all the way through.
I didn't like...
The second section of the book-

Several mini-stories from another series are included at the end of this one. While I liked The Books of Faerie, these other stories are somewhat confusing, and not as good as the first part of the book. It took me several read-throughs before I could figure out what was going on in the bonus stories.
I recommend this Book because...
The pictures, setting, and characters give you an interesting and whimsical glimpse in the realm of Faerie. The many beautiful, full-color pictures make full use of the advantages of comic books.
