Pierre is a well to do book publisher. He and his friends get together every week for a special dinner. They each invite a person who they think is an idiot and make fun of them all night. Of course, the people who are set up for this dinner don't know the truth. Enter Francois, a employee at the mininstry of finance, soccer fan and matchstick monument creator. Pierre has to cancel out because he threw his back out, but Francois arrives before he can cancel. It turns into one unforgettable night as Francois gets Pierre into all sorts of trouble with the people close to him.

I wanted to laugh when I finished this film. It was just too funny.

It made me feel good as I laughed at a good portion of the movie.

The cast of this film mostly has their credentials in the French cinema. There is one exception: Alexandria Vandernoot. She was a regular on the Highlander TV show.

Even though the setup may sound cruel, the movie itself isn't. We see the diner itself for a few quick scenes, and that's it. This is about how one man is tested by a friendly, yet clumsy neer-do-well. This movie is also based on the play, and is directed by the same man who did Le Cage Aux Folles. There has been talk of an American remake (and if you know our history with remakes of French films, it will probably not be that good).
