Swofford jumps around in his haphazard narration of his life as a Marine in the Gulf War as well as some of his childhood and training.
This type of Book is good for...
Anyone who wants to know what it's REALLY like to be a Marine in combat in the Gulf.
I especially liked...
His blunt descriptions about his feelings, even if they don't make sense to me as a civilian.
I don't recommend this Book because...
The language is extremely coarse in places and adult content is discussed frequently. Also, the latter chapters include gory descriptions of corpses. This book is not appropriate for children under 18.
